Identification: 

-Opposite arrangement of leaves and stem    -Pinnately compound leaf with 7 leaflets
-Numerous single winged samara, 1 – 2 inches in length on female trees
-Dark gray bark, furrows divided into diamond-shaped sections

Note:  Native to the Eastern United States, the Green Ash forms an excellent, fast growing shade tree.  Highly adaptable to urban conditions and frequently used as a street tree.  Many cultivars exist in the nursery trade with outstanding fall color and seedless forms.
